Religious Education

We are currently reviewing our RE Policy and our RE Curriculum offer.

At the present time, we teach RE we use the Somerset agreed syllabus or sacre, 'Awareness, Mystery & Value' and 'Understanding Christianity'. This syllabus relates beliefs to everyday life through themes.

RE is taught as a discrete subject with links made to other subjects where appropriate.

Our overview for RE ensures that RE knowledge and skills are built upon progressively as children move through the school. This area of learning develops children’s knowledge and understanding of the nature of religion and belief.   Although Christianity has a central place in the RE curriculum we also study other principal religions, religious traditions and world views, in the context of a diverse society.

Please find linked below the relevant documents for our RE Curriculum:

Long term RE Overview

Once a month, children enjoy a visit from  ‘Open the Book’ where they learn about various stories from the Bible.  This photo shows the re-enactment of the Three Wise Men celebrating the joy of the birth of Jesus.
